Parents/Carers as Partners

At Bizzy Bears we have an open door policy, we welcome all parents/carers into our setting. You can come along any morning or afternoon between 9.00am-11.00am and 12.30pm-2.30pm and join in the fun! You don't have to stay for the whole session, perhaps 10 minutes when dropping off your child. The children enjoy this special time and it gives you an opportunity to experience pre school life from your childs perspective.

Sharing Information

Children do best when parents and practitioners work together, as a parent/carer you know more about your own child than anyone else. At Bizzy Bears we welcome parents to share their knowledge of their child with us through sharing learning, achievments, experiences and new events that may take place outside of Pre school.

Parents/Carers can share this information in a variety of ways

  • verbally with your child's key person
  • writing in your child's communication diary(2-3 yr olds)
  • by contributing your observations, photographs and comments on your child's on line learning journal Tapestry.
  • through your child's 2 year old progress check review with their key person
  • through your child's termly progress summary

Parents voice

We have a parents voice group which meets once a term with staff members of Bizzy Bears for half an hour to discuss up and coming events, new ideas, and topics that have been requested by parents ie lunch box ideas, transitions to primary school. All parents/Carers are invited and we ask parents/carers to contribute their ideas and views on any aspect of Bizzy Bears to enable us to plan, reflective and review our practice. Information regarding days and times for meetings is displayed at Bizzy Bears, on the monthly newsletter and on our events page on our website.
